Critical Analysis /Conclusion

The project is very well put together, simple yet excellent in terms of delivering the actual message as it summaries the general concept of the beauty channel in modern and effective way compared to other sites similar nature.  However, the things like location and lighting of some the scene could be done better.

The process of film-making is definitely is challenging and extremely interesting as it gives a clear understanding of the importance of each step involve in the process and how it is done in the video production industry. This is by demonstrating how each step is a follow up logically into the next one in efficient and organised approach from start to end. 

This project is very inspiring to try out different things by using the most amazing software applications such as Adobe Premiere Elements 11, Adobe after effects which they are the dominant areas to consider in terms of experimenting and improvements.

The deployment!

It is another important factor in a film or video production where technical points have been considered such as the video format compatibility with the authoring software and exporting the video to CD for deployment.  The project video format based on the following:

·         Saved and deployed on CD dick

·         High Definition Video (1920*1080 or 1440*1080 wide screen formats)

·         WMV and FLV for YouTube streaming

The concept of the project!

The idea of the project was inspired by what I am interested in watching on Youtube platform.

Production and Editing Process!

At this stage of the video production, I start recording my shots based on my script and storyboard plan by using Nikon D3200 DSLR camera and tripod. I also get some inspiration from other materials that relevant to the project concept such as magazines and online fashion resources.  The following step is editing process where I used special effects and graphics from website called Video Copilot then apply it to my recording shots by using Adobe After Effects. The final editing and putting things together along with the soundtrack was done by using Adobe Premiere Elements 11.

       

Beauty Channels!

My next step in planning my film-making project was looking at other beauty channels that has been well-known and exists since the last few years on Youtube platform. I found pretty much couple of my personal favorites that I keep watching on regular bases. My research on this part was to focus about how they deliver ideas in creative ways, what the channels aim and objective, who are the target audience and what inspire them to have a beauty channel.  I also looked into the technical aspects in terms of what editing program do they use for their videos, what equipment does my video need to be high definition quality that could help me during planning and recording shoots of my video.   Here are some inspiration examples from very successful beauty and fashion channels

Script

Script is an essential part of production planning of film making. It tells the story of the film as well as how the shots of each scenes are directed from start to end, by using various camera transition, technical or especial effects that help particularly the production process. There are rules and guidelines of writing a script which I have followed to produce my script. These are;

1-Finding an idea this could be either Factual, Marketing, News or Documentary.
2-Developing the structure including introduction, middle and conclusion.
3-Describe the subject of an idea.
4-Identifying the timeline; How long is the film?. What is the length of each scene and what happens in between each shots?.
5- Writing the script will required the following;

• Courier font in size 12.
• Script printed one-sided.
• One page will equal one minute of screen time.
• Slug lines-where lines in each scenes begin, including INT or EXT (Interior/Indoors-Exterior/Outdoors).
• Scene Direction-where briefly I described the scene, writing in the present tense. 

My video script was based about a short advert to promote a beauty channel in YouTube called "On Trend". This is by creating shows about fashion, beauty, health and well-being, highlighting the essential of beauty world 24/7 with the most engaging and talented people in the industry.
